My sober mind reasons with my drunk state
Why do I drink–not of course to deny
But to map out the mechanisms of that ventriloquilal hallucinatory self overcoming Highness
To see if I could achieve that
Inspite of the world
The day we’ll meet again, it’s raining.
The sound’s just of forsaken rain
washing our desolation,
desecration demanding no answers
which scars each of our memories.
History has no time for our
no compunction to reveal itself
content as the sole omniscient.
We reconfigure ourselves to play the stranger.
I have seen you lately so bright
‘Gainst that night sky
Gleaning evening’s confiscated beauty
From cheeks of air
Then tumbling them with light.
While I, ineffably caught, spin, and stare…
I grew up knowing love
to avoid doom. How
can you love me
and not die
as I had to
Sometimes I feel you
that ignoble beast
Thanks for joining me!
Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton
